A five-year retained partnership, embedded as an extension of the in-house comms team.

As an Account Director, with my team we worked with Watergate Bay across five years, becoming a trusted extension of the hotel's own communications team rather than an outside agency. On retainer, we managed press trips and high-calibre PR stays, securing coverage that reflected the property's standing on the Cornish coast.

Our work spanned the hotel's £3m redevelopment, including the relaunch of the Swim Club and the rollout of its "ski resort on the beach" concept — bringing the active relaxation ethos to life across press and partnerships. We also led PR for the launch of Zacry's restaurant and the beach hut food offering, positioning both as destinations in their own right.

In short: long-term retained PR, major redevelopment launches, embedded team partnership.

PR exposure for Watergate Bay Hotel, and our wider brands, is an instrumental tool in our marketing mix. It has helped build our brand over the years, telling the stories that matter to key audiences while driving bookings at key times.

From journalist experiences to discovering new influencers who help us create interesting and exciting content and everything in between – Wild Card know their stuff. And they work brilliantly with our in-house teams and wider agency mix.
